The nature and pattern of each government exam are different. But the only similarity between those exams is the syllabus. In exams like UPSC, almost 80% syllabus is based on general studies. Whereas in banking all papers depend on Math, reasoning, and English. If you want to prepare for two or more competitive exams, one thing you need to keep in mind is to keep the syllabus of each subject in mind. Some competitive exams are in written format while some are objective. If you are preparing for two or more exams then you must have patience as well as time management. The study is best done with patience and time planning.

Therefore, it is beneficial to prepare for two or more competitive exams because, if you don’t get selected in one exam, you may get selected in the other exam. For example, if you are preparing for State PCS but you have prepared for UPSC then you can get selected for the UPSC exam. Because the basic study you have done for the state government exam can definitely be beneficial for the upsc exam. That is, overall your time is not wasted and you benefit from the studies done. Preparing for two or more exams is a stressful task. But opportunities should be seen in this. Every year as we see there are 40 to 50 upsc toppers who have cleared upsc competitive exams with ssc, railway, or banking. 40% syllabus is common in almost all central government exams and state government exams. Basic knowledge in subjects such as history, geography, politics, economics, science, and mathematics can be useful for UPSC.

This requires courage, perseverance, and patience. Because at the same time, you have to prepare for many subjects and read many kinds of books. Preparing for two or more competitive exams can be a good plan B or backup for you. From a practical point of view, this decision is correct. Because there is no one telling you which exam you will clear. Or there is no one telling in which exam you can be a topper. But it can be said for sure that if you make sincere efforts you can succeed in any competitive exam. You must create a backup plan for yourself. Suppose you are preparing for a single exam and you don’t succeed in those competitive exams, you should have a plan B i.e. you should already know which field you want to pursue as a career in the future.
